This center cupola steel caboose is painted dark blue with yellow logo and lettering. It was built in July 1937, rebuilt in February 1969 and runs on Bettendorf trucks. In 1969 and 1970, #3559 was part of the first group of 75 units to be rebuilt in C&O’s caboose rebuilding program. They were rebuilt, repainted into the blue scheme and renumbered into series 3500-3574.

This caboose is painted BN green with yellow ends and runs on black Bettendorf trucks. In 1990 it wore this paint scheme with white lettering on the sides and cupola. Burlington Northern Railroad was the product of a March 2, 1970, merger comprising the Great Northern Railway, the Northern Pacific Railway, the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad, and the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway.

Painted yellow with red herald and lettering. It bears a red, green and white “There’s No Romance in Talking a Chance” safety slogan. It was built in 1959, serviced in 1973, and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Union Pacific cabooses began to be repainted in UP Armour Yellow in 1947. This continued through the late 1950s. UP cabooses were renumbered to the 25000 series in 1959-1960.

Red w/ black roof, logo and lettering in white; built in 1967 by Hawker Siddeley in Trenton, Nova Scotia, for the CN on Bettendorf trucks. One of 150 CN planned to use to replace their fleet of aging wood cabooses. Improvements included the introduction of electricity derived from axle-driven generators to power lights, refrigerators, hot plates and other amenities, as well as additional safety features including electric windshield wipers, safety glass and safety headrests for the cupola and conductor’s desk.

This center cuploa caboose is painted green with yellow end stripes, herald and lettering. Built in 1968, this hack ran the Midwest during the 70s-80s on Bettendorf trucks. This caboose was painted in the Whitman green paint scheme when shopped in the 1970s. The scheme was named for Reginald N. Whitman who was appointed Katy president in 1970. The paint scheme lasted until the merger with the Union Pacific in the late 1980s.

Painted stagecoach yellow with dark grren roof and green lettering and built in 1944, serviced in 1972; runs on Bettendorf trucks. 10801 was one of the few cupola cabooses CNW owned and was likely acquired from another railroad. The slogan ‘employee owned’ on the CNW logo was applied on equipment for a relatively short time, from 1972 through 1982. The ‘T’ under the road number indicates that the caboose is equipped with a toilet.

This center cupola caboose is painted brown with yellow ends and white handgrabs. It was built in 1958 and runs on Bettendorf trucks.. ‘Rock Island’ speed lettering is prominently displayed in white. Built by International Car Co. in Kenton, Ohio, the ends were painted yellow to improve visibility.

Painted red w/ white ‘Thoroughbred’ logo. Based on a prototype built in the 60's on Bettendorf trucks. Norfolk Southern Corporation, a Class I railroad, is headquartered in Norfolk, VA. It operates over 20,000 route miles in 22 eastern states, the District of Columbia, and has rights in Canada from Buffalo to Toronto and over the Albany to Montreal route. Coal is the most common commodity hauled on the railroad; it also offers the most extensive intermodal network in eastern North America.

This center cupola steel caboose is painted olive drab with gray cupola, and black roof and ends. The grab handles are painted gold. The sides bear the gold, white, red and blue logos of the United States Army Air Corps, the precursor to the U.S. Air Force. The Army Air Corps was, as the name suggests, originally part of the U.S. Army before becoming the forerunner for the newly formed USAF.

This center cupola caboose is painted freight car red and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Built in 1962 as part of series 1100-1149 by International Car Co., NP began renumbering cabooses in anticipation of BN merger. The renumbering put NP cabooses in the 10000 series, keeping the last three digits of the original number.

This center cupola caboose is orange with black and white lettering and runs on Bettendorf trucks. International Car delivered these cabooses in March of 1976. Some of these included an adjustable vent and filter on the sides intended to pressurize the cabin to keep out coal dust, road grime and exhaust fumes.
