This 50’ gondola with fishbelly sides was built at PRR’s shops in 1940. It wears the pre-1953 iron oxide paint scheme with circle keystone herald in white and white stenciling on the sides and ends. The 1,870 cu ft, 140,000 lb capacity gondola is equipped with Bettendorf trucks and was used in general service.

Built in September of 1971, this gondola was shopped at Emerson Shops at Rocky Mount in May of 1973. It was part of a 100 car fleet. The railroad was headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida.

These 40’ standard box cars with single Youngstown door and roofwalk are painted box car red with white herald and lettering. They were built in March 1961 by Pullman Standard and runs on Bettendorf trucks. The tilted rectangular logo has long been Milwaukee Road’s identifying mark, even though the wording within the herald has changed throughout the years.

These 50' gondolas with fishbelly sides and drop-ends are black with large, white 'Erie Lackawanna' letters and white lettering. They were built in May 1955 at Erie's Greenville Shops and run on black Roller Bearing trucks. The Erie-Lackawanna Railroad was formed by the merger of the Erie Railroad with the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western on October 17, 1960. A minor renaming occurred in late 1963 when the hyphen was dropped. Consolidated Rail Corporation took over EL's operations on April 1, 1976.

These 50' gondolas with fishbelly sides, drop ends and scrap loads are painted black with white logo and lettering. They were built in April 1952, serviced in April 1958 on Roller Bearing trucks. Delivered in the standard early 1950s Railroad Roman lettering and a first generation "C&O for PROGRESS" logo. Shopped at Rougemere Yard in Dearborn, Michigan in April 1958 and retain their "as built" scheme. Originally built for general service, over half of the series was later converted to specialized uses, coil steel, ferro-manganese ore, containers and glass.

These 50' gondolas with fishbelly sides are painted blue with yellow logos and lettering and yellow and red "Ease Up" warnings. They were built in August 1966, serviced in September 1987, and run on Roller Bearing trucks. These gondolas are specialty open top cars with fixed sides, fixed ends and solid bottom. They’re equipped with steel cushion underframe and fabricated steel girders for "Coil Steel Only."

These gondolas are specialty open top cars with fixed sides, fixed ends and solid bottom. They’re equipped with steel cushion underframe and fabricated steel girders for coil steel.

They were built in October 1951, serviced in October 1978, and run on Roller Bearing trucks. These gondolas were stenciled with large billboard ‘Lehigh Valley’ with their diamond logo. They were both equipped with wood floors.

These 50’ gondolas with fishbelly sides and drop ends are painted mineral brown with white lettering. They run on brown roller bearing trucks. ATSF 75043 & 75046 were built in January 1954 and were last serviced in April of 1974, at the Topeka, Kansas shop. The Atchison & Topeka Railroad was chartered in 1859 to join the cities of Atchison and Topeka then planned to continue southwest toward Santa Fe. “Santa Fe” was added to the corporate name in 1863.

These 50' gondolas with fishbelly sides are black with white lettering and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Originally built by Pullman Standard in 1957 as part of series 502400 - 502499 these cars are an example of a refurbished gondola painted in “THE ROCK” scheme. The drop ends enabled the cars to carry long loads, increasing their untility.

Built in 1952 by Bethlehem Steel as part of series 33000-33999, these cars were reshopped to have their drop ends made fixed. Includes laser cut steel plate load. Load comes unassembled, but decorated.

Built in 1955 as part of series 558000-588249 they were designed to haul just about any loose commodity during the 1950's which was a cost-effective revenue generator for the railroad.

These 50' gondolas with fishbelly sides and drop ends are synthetic red with yellow lettering and run on Bettendorf trucks. Built in 1957, as part of series 30000-30699, these cars filled the need for specialized gondolas. Eventually, these cars were rebuilt and reduced to 68-ton capacity due to added adjustable bulkheads and car covers to better protect the loads they carried.

These 50' gondolas with fishbelly sides and drop ends are black with white letting and run on Roller Bearing trucks. This mill gondola was purchased by Rio Grande in 1948, and was eventually seen in general service, coil steel service, copper bullion service, and even crated plate glass service. D&RGW was formed in 1870, and operated the highest mainline railroad in the United States through the Rockies in Colorado at an altitude of 10,240 feet.

These 50’ gondolas with fishbelly sides and drop ends are black with yellow lettering and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built in 1945 for Western Pacific, these cars were rebuilt and renumbered in the early 1960s for steel bar service. Under contract with US Steel, they remained in the steel industry through the end of their revenue lives in the 1980s.

These 50’ gondolas with fishbelly sides and drop ends were built in August 1957 by Pullman Standard. They were painted red with white lettering and black and white herald. They are part of a 200 car fleet. They were the first ones purchased by the GN to haul fabricated steel components. Gondolas were ideal for this purpose due to their low center of gravity and ease of loading and unloading. They are equipped with roller bearing trucks.
