Built in 1964, these 50’ plug-door boxcars featured Roller Bearing trucks, a cushioned underframe, load dividers, and car-side insulation, and were used in perishable food service. Pennsylvania was a large Class 1 railroad formed in 1846 and grew to be a predominant shipper on the east coast until 1968 when it merged with rival New York Central to form Penn Central.

Built in 1968, these plug-door 50’ boxcars with Roller Bearing trucks had a 5,266 cubic foot capacity and were used for special equipment, such as in food service. They featured Car Pac loaders and cushioned underframes. Great Northern was a Class 1 railroad founded in 1881 and eventually was merged with Northern Pacific and others to form Burlington Northern Railroad in 1970.

Sporting green "CV" logos, green/white lettering, on black roller bearing trucks. Built by Berwick Forge & Fabricating in '74 (two of 200 built for CV). Most of the series was painted standard boxcar red w/ white lettering; the final five cars of the series 50095-50099 were painted with white sides, black ends and green lettering. This paint scheme may have marked these cars for newsprint service, a common load for cars in service to the CV at this time.

Built by American Car and Foundry in 1975, this plug-door boxcar with Roller bearing trucks was equipped with moveable bulkheads and a cushioned underframe. Burlington Northern was formed through the mergers of Great Northern and Northern Pacific in 1970, and then merged with ATSF in 1995 to form BNSF.

These plug-door 50’ boxcars with Roller Bearing trucks were built in the late 1970s for Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe. They were assigned to food service, designated by the special equipment “XF” marking on the car. Founded in 1859, Santa Fe was one of the largest railroads in North America up until 1996, when it merged with Burlington Northern to form BNSF.

The cars from this series, 253450-253749, were built by American Car & Foundry and delivered in April of 1976 for the Missouri Pacific®. They are painted light brown with aluminum roof and white lettering which includes the MP ‘buzzsaw’ logo. They were equipped with Evans load dividers and an ACF Freight-Saver cushioning system for additional protection of loads during transport.

Painted brown w/ whilte ‘Wet Noodle’ logo and lettering. Built 8/1974, serviced in 3/2003, w/ Roller Bearing trucks; representing series 404400-404579. The CN Railway Co. (reporting mark CN) is a Canadian Class I railway serving Canada and the Midwest and Southern United States. It is the largest railway in Canada in terms of both revenue and the physical size of its rail network, and is currently Canada’s only transcontinental railway company, spanning Canada from Nova Scotia to British Columbia.

These 50’ rib side box cars with plug door and no roofwalk are green with white lettering and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built in 1966 for New York Central Railroad, this car featured a cushioned underframe and DFB loaders. New York Central was founded in 1853 and continued until the merger with Pennsylvania Railroad in 1968 to form Penn Central.

These 50’ rib side box cars with plug door and no roofwalk are orange with black lettering and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built in May 1966 and leased to the Denver & Rio Grande Western, these insulated cars featured cushioned underframes as well as load dividers. The D&RGW was a transcontinental line with the slogan “Main line through the Rockies,” with the highest rail line in the United States at over 10,000 feet.
