These 50' standard box cars with single door are brown with white lettering and run on Roller Bearing trucks. During the late 1960s, many cars on the Northern Pacific roster were rebuilt or replaced to increase load capacities. Originally, these 50-ton cars sported a red, white and blue scheme employed in general merchandise service. By 1969, they had been upgraded to 55-ton cars, downgraded from merchandise service, and repainted into the all-brown yin-yang scheme.

Built in 1958, these box cars were the first to carry the new "Shadow Keystone" scheme. They were equipped with specialized racks to secure auto parts such as radiators, axels, and engines.

These 50' standard box cars with single doors are black with white lettering and red and yellow band and run on Roller Bearing trucks. Built in October of 1941 and originally numbered into series 25100-25288, four cars were eventually converted into express box cars in 1948 and numbered into the series 400-403. They were equipped with special racks for loading Chevrolet front axles.

Belonging to a 200-car series, this 4940 cubic foot capacity car was built in 1963 by American Car & Foundry. Featuring a cushioned underframe and DF loaders, it was used for shock-sensitive cargos.

These 50' standard box cars with single door are mineral brown with white lettering and run on Bettendorf trucks. This 4870 cubic-foot box car was built in 1953 by ATSF, and advertised "The Chief" on one side, Santa Fe's Chicago to Los Angeles premier passenger train. Belonging to class Bx-64, it belonged to a series of 300 cars.
"Cameo" Series
As of February 2020 Micro-Trains began a new series, titled C&O "Cameo" Series, a monthly Box Car series in both N and Z. In 1956, Chesapeake & Ohio produced six different experimental paint schemes on 50' Pullman Standard box cars. Built in 1959 and rebuilt and repainted in 1975, these cars featured DF loaders, and Shock Control end-of-car cushioning to minimize load damage due to rough train handling. Founded in 1859, Santa Fe was one of the largest railroads in North America until 1996, when it merged with Burlington Northern to form BNSF.

New York Central was a Class 1 Railroad founded in 1853 and operated until 1968, when it was merged with long-time rival Pennsylvania, to form Penn Central.

Northern Pacific was a Class 1 Railroad formed in 1864, which merged with Burlington Northern in 1970 to later join ATSF in 1996 to become BNSF Railway.

These 50’ standard box cars with single door are green with yellow lettering and run on Roller Bearing trucks. Built in 1945 as 40’ cars, they were later rebuilt into a 50’ cars featuring DF loaders, joining Class XMLc. Reading can be traced back to 1833 as the Philadelphia and Reading Railroad, one of the first railroads in the United States. Over time it became just ‘Reading,’ and remained profitable through World War I. By the 1960s, declining profits lead to bankruptcy in 1971. In 1976, the remaining assets were merged with other railroads to form Conrail.

These 50’ standard box cars with single door are orange with black lettering and run on Bettendorf trucks. Built in 1955 they featured a cushioned underframe and Evans DF Loaders. Western Pacific was a Class 1 Railroad formed in 1903 in order to offer another rail option to the established Utah routes of the Southern Pacific. WP was acquired in 1982 by Union Pacific Railroad.
