British Columbia Railway

Built in 1961 for Pacific Great Eastern, this car was repainted in 1979 by the North Vancouver Shops when the railroad was changed to British Columbia Railway. This 12 car series was insulated and equipped with heaters for temperature sensitive commodities.

Canadian National

Built in 1960, as part of series 290201-290501, these cars were part of an order of 300 units that were fitted with underslung heaters to provide above freezing temperatures during long transits. They were initially used for food stuffs but also found use carrying commodities that were somewhat temperature sensitive.

Bangor & Aroostook

Built in 1960 as part of series 2301-2449, few railroads had a colorful fleet like the B&A did. Many of their potato cars were solid red, white and blue but later the scheme was muted somewhat with a colorful logo on a standard brown scheme. These cars were climate controlled to maintain the quality of the perishables carried.
