This PRR modernized heavyweight business car is tuscan red with buff lettering and runs on 6-wheel Commonwealth trucks. Built in 1928 by the Altoona Shops, number 120, the “Pennsylvania,” was assigned to the highest tier of company business. It was used by PRR Presidents and also U.S. Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt through John F. Kennedy, and has been privately owned since 1971.

Yellowstone River
This BN modernized heavyweight business car is green with a white band and runs on 6-wheel Commonwealth trucks. Originally built for Northern Pacific in 1955, it was named “Yellowstone River.” In 1971 the car received the Burlington Northern two-tone green scheme, and a year later was painted in the green and white “Hockey Stick” scheme which lasted until 1995.

This modernized heavyweight business car is yellow with Harbor Mist Grey roof and red lettering. Built in 1919 and sold to the Baldwin Estate, then purchased by UP in 1942, it was renumbered and refurbished with air conditioning and assigned to the Oregon Division Superintendent through the 1970s.

This modernized heavyweight business car is two-tone grey with white lettering and runs on 6-wheel passenger trucks. Built in the 1920s, SP business car 106 was originally named “Shasta.” In the late 1950s, Shasta was given the two-tone grey paint scheme, and by late 1964, the business car was renamed “Oregon.”

This modernized heavyweight business car is black with yellow and red stripes and runs on 6-wheel Commonwealth Equalizer trucks. Named “Kay See,” it was rebuilt with new sheet metal sides, improved windows and upgraded interiors, giving it new life, and is still used by Kansas City Southern on excursion and company business passenger trains.

This modernized heavyweight business car is aluminum with red band and runs on 6-wheel Commonwealth Equalizer trucks. Built in 1926, the SP #100 “Airslie” was originally assigned to Southern Pacific Board Chairman, Henry Wheeler Deforrest and was often seen in New York for company business. Deforrest named the car “Airslie” for a family hunting lodge in Scotland.
