Here is a Special Full Throttle "Collector Pack #3" hopper release for November 2009! There is only 35 X 2-packs created so please adjust your orders taking this into consideration. The 2-pk. features an offset-side hopper of the Nickel Plate Road and a rib-side hopper of the ACY; both Railroads having their origins in Ohio! They have new and different reporting numbers than the cars from the initial FT releases.
Important to Ohio's railroad history, these two coal hoppers find their heritage from within the state. The offset-side model represents a hauler from the large Nickel Plate Railroad, whose home was Cleveland, Ohio, and the rib-side hopper, a model illustrating a coaler from the roster of the Akron, Canton and Youngstown Railroad operating from Akron, Ohio. The NKP had rails running the perimeter of the Great Lakes regions from New York to Illinois and down into Missouri, while the ACY, a smaller concern having many interchanges with larger railroads, had lines running from the coal fields of western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, across northern Ohio to the extreme western part of the state. During the Twentieth Century, both Lines fed the fires of the American Industrial Revolution with load after load of coal!
