The Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad (CBQ) known as Burlington Route or the Q, served a large area of the Midwestern and Western USA, having extensive trackage in the states of Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Wyoming, with lines through New Mexico, and Texas. Burlington Route subsidiaries included Colorado and Southern Rwy., Ft. Worth and Denver Rwy. and Burlington-Rock Island Railroad. It's primary connections included the cities of Chicago, Minneapolis-St. Paul, St. Louis, Kansas City and Denver. Because of this extensive trackage in the midwest and mountain states, the Q used the slogans "Everywhere West", "Way of the Zephyrs" (for it's passenger service to the West Coast), and "The Way West".
