This is due to the complexity of the paint schemes as well as the limited numbers of these locomotives. In AZL s attempt to push the envelope in Z scale, AZL challenged themselves to use a standard PCB in the SD70ACe while pushing for prototypical cab lighting that included working ditch lights. While the design is prudent, the illumination is not as bright as we had desired. Yes there is lighting there . trust us!
