• The Evans 53 Double Plug Door (DPD) box car was manufactured during the 1960s and 1970s by Evans Products. Commonly used for transporting lumber and paper goods, the RBL (AAR class for an insulated bunkerless refrigerator car with loading devices) classification also allowed for the transport of canned goods and other food products. The double 8 doors eased the loading and unloading process of large cargo.
