This black Pennsylvania 2365 was one of 15 GP35s built by EMD for the Pennsylvania Railroad in March of 1965. She remained on the roster through several mergers, bankruptcy and eventually acquisition by Conrail in 1980, when she was repainted in the new Conrail paint scheme. The Pennsylvania (now Conrail) GP35 units began to be retired in the mid-1980s and continued to disappear from service until the last few were retired in the mid-1990s.

These GP35 locomotives are painted black with yellow stripes, logos and lettering. They were built as part of EMD order number 7705 for the St. Louis & San Francisco (Frisco) railroad in 1964. The late 1960s saw the introduction of a popular red and white Frisco paint scheme and this black and yellow scheme disappeared long before the railroad was acquired by the Burlington Northern. In 1980 the locos were repainted to the black, green and white BN loco colors.
