These 60’ bulkhead flat cars are painted yellow with black and white logo, black lettering and white reflectors. Built in 2001 by Gunderson as part of series 804000-804699, they run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. They were built a minimum of three feet in height and flat floor for general commodity loading.

Built 01/1978 on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. The Western Pacific® Railroad was formed in 1903 as an attempt to break the nearmonopoly the Southern Pacific RR had on rail service into Northern CA. WP’s Feather River Route directly competed with SP’s portion of the Overland Route for rail traffic between Salt Lake/Ogden, UT and Oakland, CA, for nearly 80 years. In 1983, WP was acquired by the Union Pacific Railroad®.

Built 08/1971 by Greenbriar Railcar, Inc., with offices in Lake Oswego, OR, serviced in May 1987 by the Southern Pacific® at Roseville, CA. These are from a 118-car fleet, with 147000 capacity, owned by Galveston Railroad, L.P.

The AAR mechanical designation “FBS” on these cars denotes “specialty bulkhead flat car equipped with fixed or permanently attached movable bulkheads” or ends a minimum of three feet in height and flat floor for general commodity loading.

These 60’ bulkhead flat cars are painted blue with white lettering and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built in 1968 by Marine Industries as part of series 160325-160374 they carry a load of pipe. The GN’s route was the northernmost transcontinental railroad route in the United States.

These 60’ bulkhead flat cars are white with red and black lettering. Built in 1984 as part of series 5050-5089 these AAR Class: FL: Flat logging car or logging trucks consisted of two trucks fitted with cross supports over truck bolsters.

These 60’ bulkhead flat cars are brown with white lettering and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built in 1978 by Thrall for the Southern Railway, they were quickly absorbed into NS during the 1982 merger. Used to carry heavy loads, bulkheads on each end prevent horizontal shifting from sudden acceleration or deceleration of the train.
